Want to establish a daily practice of meditation but struggle to maintain a schedule?
Join KTC’s “Commit to Sit” monthly practice group for peer support and monthly meetings with KTC lamas.
“Commit to Sit” began in 2022 with a dedicated group from KTC’s “Meditation Marathon” group fundraiser.After meditating for 10 days during the fundraising marathon, the group wanted to continue meeting, and stretched their daily sitting commitment for three months, then six months!
Now the group is accepting new members who want to take the six-month “Commit to Sit” challenge.
Led by Lama Tom Broadwater, the group meets monthly for a meditation “check-in” and discussion about techniques, as well as the challeges we face both on and off the cushion.
We will study topics including Elements of Shamatha; Using Visual and Sound Objects in Meditation;Meditation with Thoughts and Sensations; and the Six Powers that Make Shamatha Progress.
PROGRAM IS OPEN to any person interested in making meditation a daily habit.
However, SIGN-UPS will be limited to those who register before the first session on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Participants will receive a monthly reminder email a few days before the monthly online meditation group meeting.
We hope you will join us as we “commit to sit” once a day for the next six months and deepen our commitment to living mindfully
