This week’s Dharma Talk is entitled “Detachment is the foot of meditation.” What does this mean? by Eric Weinberg.

In a follow up to Lopon Lama Topden’s teaching on the Mahamudra Lineage prayer, Eric investigates the line “Detachment is the foot of meditation.” How does this fit in with “Devotion is the head of meditation”? What are we devoted to? What are we detached from? and why did  Khenpo Sangye say revulsion is a more accurate translation than detachment.
