First Teachings: Buddha and His Female Disciples

This week’s Dharma Talk is entitled First Teachings: Buddha and His Female Disciples by Lama Kathy Wesley.

In observance of the holy day called Chokhor Duchen (The Great Occasion of the Buddha’s First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma) Lama Kathy will discuss the first teachings of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni, who first showed the path of liberation from suffering 2,500 years ago. She also will highlight the teachings of the Buddha’s very first women disciples. Incisive and fresh, these poems ring true today just as they did 2,500 years ago.
