As we train in the Buddhist methods that change our lives, Meditation plays a central role. At first we learn mindfulness, which tames our mental afflictions. Next we learn compassion meditation that helps us overcome selfishness. Finally, we engage in meditation on mind itself, which helps reveal the basic nature of our minds and all things.
