Resilience Made Simple

This week’s Dharma Talk is entitled Resilience Made Simple by Lama Tom Broadwater.

There are enormous amounts of literature and study on resilience. However it is possible to distill much of these findings into 3 basic Buddhist concepts. And so we can observe resilience in three ways:

1.  How we view suffering and misfortune.

2.  Where we consciously place our attention during distress.

3.  What is the motivation for our behavior when we encounter adversity?

In this light resilience is not an innate trait but a habit that anyone can learn.
