Stupa Workshop and Prayer Service

July 9, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

In November 2021, lamas from our “home” monastery at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra in upstate NY and from Kagyu Tekchen Zabsal Ling in Toronto consecrated what might be the first publicly displayed outdoor stupa (Buddhist monument) in Central Ohio.

The stupa, which symbolizes the continuing and enduring presence of the Buddha’s body, speech, and mind in the world, gives our sangha a unique opportunity to cultivate virtue by making prayers and offerings in the presence of the stupa.

In the morning session, Lama Kathy will give an introduction to the symbolism of the stupa; after a lunch break, Lama Kathy will show participants how to make offerings at the stupa and introduce a simple Stupa Practice compiled by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche.

The program will be offered both in-person at the KTC and via Zoom to our at-home Zoom audience and distance sangha.

The morning teaching session will be offered on the Zoom platform; the afternoon prayer session will be webcast on the KTC Facebook and YouTube pages.

Those attending in person should bring a sack lunch. Water, coffee and tea will be provided.
