Refuge Workshop and Ceremony with Lama Tom

May 18 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Tree and moon

Learn about the Buddhist Ceremony of Taking Refuge in a workshop, followed by the Refuge Vow Ceremony itself.

Refuge Workshop and Ceremony

Since the time of the Buddha, aspiring students of his teachings have begun their path by taking the Vow of Refuge: taking the Buddha as their teacher, the dharma as their path, and the sangha as their community, students commit to diving deeper into their spiritual practice to benefit themselves and all beings.

Curious about Refuge and want to explore more? Lama Tom Broadwater will offer a Refuge Workshop class at 1:30 PM on Saturday May 18, followed by the short Refuge Ceremony itself.

The 90-minute program will answer your questions about Refuge and Buddhist practice, and the ceremony – whether you participate as an aspiring Refuge-taker or a sympathetic observer – will help you understand the role of Refuge in spiritual practice and life.
