TEACHINGS AVAILABLE IN-PERSON AND ON ZOOM
We all know meditation can make our lives better and bring us insight into our mind’s true nature, but how can meditation be of benefit during times of intense fear and anxiety, and how can we stay encouraged to continue our path of awakening?
A 20th Century meditation master named Khenpo Gangshar answered these questions by spontaneously composing a song during a time of great fear, clearly showing a path to Buddhahood and encouraging us to keep going, even in times of difficulty and discouragement.
Lama Karma will explain the meaning of this song, which is an excellent teaching for our present day and situation.
REFUGE VOW CEREMONY and LONG LIFE EMPOWERMENT
On Saturday Feb. 8 beginning at 2 PM, Lama Karma will offer the Vow of Refuge to anyone wishing to formally begin Buddhist practice.
It will be followed by a special Amitayus Long-Life Empowerment. This empowerment traces its lineage back to the great 11th Century female master Machik Drupay Gyalmo, who bestowed the empowerment on Rechungpa, the disciple of the great yogi Milarepa, extending his life by many decades. This practice of Amitayus, Buddha of Boundless Life, will be a blessing to all who wish to live a long and healthy life.
All are welcome!
