The fourth of the four yearly “Great Occasion” holidays on the Tibetan Buddhist calendar is Lhabab Duchen, the day commemorating the Buddha’s descent from the heavenly realm where he had gone to repay his mother’s kindness by teaching her and other celestial beings the profound dharma. Virtuous acts done during this time are multiplied many thousand-fold because of its connection with events in the life of the historical Buddha. At KTC, we will celebrate Lhabab Duchen with a morning-only Sacred Day retreat.
