Addiction, Dharma and Recovery

September 23, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

In this program, three members of Columbus Karma Thegsum Chöling discuss Addiction and Recovery.

We will explore what addiction is and the paths out of it. We will then discuss addiction and recovery from a Buddhist perspective.

We start with the belief that the propensity to “crave” exists within all of us. From this basic understanding we will look at addiction and recovery with the eyes of compassion.

Finally one of the team will give a personal account of their recovery.  Our aim is to develop a compassionate understanding of addiction and those who suffer from it.

The members of this team are not authorities in the recovery field. But we will strive to lead an initial investigation that is honest, unbiased, heartfelt and factual.

This discussion will be of interest to those whose lives have been touched by addiction, those in recovery and those who are merely curious about these investigations.
