It’s been a year since an arson fire destroyed the Columbus KTC building in the early hours of Jan. 31, 2016. In that year, we have become true Tibetan nomads, sharing dharma with each other and with the Central Ohio community at large through our “wanderings.” It’s auspicious that the anniversary date falls on a Tuesday – our usual Chenrezig sadhana practice day – so we are inviting everyone to join us for one, two, or three special events on this Commemoration day. May all beings benefit!
Smoke Offering: 6 p.m. at the parking lot, 231 S. Grubb Street
Weather permitting, we will offer a “Sang” incense offering in the parking lot as a gift to the environment and to beings, and as a blessing for the land and neighborhood. The ceremony will begin promptly and last 30 minutes. In case of inclement weather, the “Sang” offering will be postponed; check the www.columbusktc.org for updates the day of the ceremony.
Chenrezig Sadhana: 7 p.m. at Congregation Tifereth Israel, 1354 E. Broad Street
To commemorate the fire that destroyed the Columbus KTC building but strengthened our spirit of community, we will recite the Chenrezig Sadhana at 7 p.m. We will begin promptly; the chant will last 45 minutes. We will pray for healing for the person who set the fire and for all beings affected by it.
Sangha Update: 7:45 p.m. at Tifereth Israel
Immediately following the Chenrezig sadhana, the KTC sangha “family” will gather for a family meeting to review progress on the new center building. Water and juice will be offered. The update will last about 30 minutes.
