Lhabab Duchen Sunday is the Sunday observance of Lhabab Duchen, the Great Occasion of the Buddha’s descent from the god realm. Some time after his enlightenment, the Buddha traveled to the realm of the gods, where his mother, Queen Maya, had been reborn, in order to repay her kindness by teaching the profound Abhidharma. We honor the Buddha and the profound teachings he gave us by reciting the “Praise of the Twelve Deeds of the Buddha” before the usual Sunday Dharma Talk.
