The two-week observance of “The Waxing Moon of Miracles” begins with Losar (the day after the New Moon), and ends on Chutrul Duchen (The Great Occasion of the Buddha’s Miracles) on Monday March 9. Virtuous acts done during this time are multiplied many thousand-fold because of its connection with events in the life of the historical Buddha.
At KTC, we will welcome the New Year with a morning session of prayer. It is traditionally said that “what you do on Losar Day, you will do all year long,” so we invite you to start the year off right with an hour of prayer with us!
Our Losar morning prayer session starts at 8 with a recitation of the Praise to the 12 Deeds of the Buddha, and continues with a recitation of the sadhana (chant practice) of the compassion bodhisattva Green Tara. Additionally, anyone who wants to come to the shrine room and do their own practice is welcome
