Presented by Cathy Lhamo Jackson, this 90-minute workshop will cover the why and how of mantra practice, both on our meditation seat and throughout our daily lives. It will include instruction and short practice sessions of three mantras – the bodhisattva Chenrezig, the bodhisattva Tara, and Medicine Buddha – and is appropriate for everyone, including beginners.
Mantra practice is based in the fundamental teachings of the historical Buddha, who taught that all beings possess the potential for spiritual awakening, and that the practice of visualization and mantra recitation can connect us to this potential and help us cultivate awakened qualities of wisdom and compassion.
We will learn the meanings of the mantras, how to chant, and.ways to use mantra practices in everyday life.
