7 PM to 8:15 PM Third Tuesdays, November 2022 through April, 2023
Online via Zoom
At the request of participants in the 2022 KTC Meditation Marathon, Columbus KTC’s lamas will spend six months working with folks who want to take a deeper dive into their daily meditation practice.
Using a format similar to the nightly Meditation Marathon practice sessions, we will meet once a month for six months to review the techniques of sitting meditation, talk over challenges we face on and off the cushion, sit together, and study a traditional Tibetan teaching on the Nine Stages of Shamatha.
Participants will commit to sitting once a day for the next six months, as we work to deepen our commitment to living mindfully and finding ways to expand the impact of meditation on our daily lives.
We will study topics including Elements of Shamatha; Using Visual and Sound Objects in Meditation;Meditation with Thoughts and Sensations; and the Six Powers that Make Shamatha Progress.
The group will meet on Third Tuesdays from November 2022 through April 2023 and then have an extra session to evaluate where we’ve been and decide what we could do next.
