At the request of a new dharma student, Lama Kathy will be giving a Refuge Vow Ceremony at 1 PM Saturday Dec. 30 at KTC.
The Refuge Vow Ceremony is the first step on the Buddhist path. It consists of repeating the vow – taking Refuge in the Buddha as one’s teacher, the Dharma as one’s path, and the Sangha as one’s community – in the presence of a lama-preceptor who “stands in” for the Buddha and transmits the vow.
