The Buddha’s teachings say we all have the potential for spiritual growth and enlightenment. People of all ages, genders, and walks of life possess this potential, called “buddha nature,” which can bring out profoundl peace of mind and well-being.
Meditation and skillful action are central to the path to Buddhahood. And few meditations and skillful actions are as powerful as those connected with the bodhisattva Tara, who made a sacred promise that she would only ever appear in a woman’s form to swiftly bring fearlessness and protection to all beings.
This series of talks will cover the history of Tara and teach how to recite her mantra and praises, which have helped generations of Buddhist practitioners realize their own inner Buddha nature and engage in skillful actions to help others.
Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned practitioner, you’ll be informed and inspired by this program. We hope to see you there!
On Friday Oct. 18, Lama Lodro Lhamo will introduce the topic “Swift and Fearless” in an evening talk. On Saturday and Sunday Oct. 19 and 20, progressive workshops will teach how to recite Tara’s mantra and meditate on her form as the feminine divine.
Lama Lodro Lhamo is president of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra monastery in Woodstock, NY. The first woman to serve in the role of KTD President, Lama Lodro Lhamo has been a student of Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche since 1990.
