Trainings in Compassion: The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas

July 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Everyone wants to have more peace and happiness in their lives. But most of us are confused about the best way to accomplish this.

In 12th Century Tibet, the Buddhist master Ngulchu Thogme Zangpo came up with a formula for training the mind in two forces named by Shakyamuni Buddha himself as the chief path to happiness and peace: the practice of love and compassion.

He summarized these trainings in his composition, “The 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva,” which has since become a classic of Tibetan Buddhist literature, loved (and even memorized!) by generations of Buddhist practitioners.

Lama Karma Drodhul, who has deeply studied this Buddhist classic, will review the text, offer insights into its meaning, and show us how to use the book in our daily lives to deepen our connection to love and compassion, peace, and happiness.

ABOUT TICKETS: Our Columbus KTC Facebook event listing for Lama Karma’s Dharma Talk says tickets are free, but we would appreciate a donation to benefit Columbus KTC’s operations fund during this time.

Every participant will receive a PDF of the text to use during practice and in the workshop, and those who donate at the Sponsorship level ($54) will receive a small commemorative copy of the text to keep and use in their daily practice.

Register here.
