Every day, the news gives us a jolt of difficult information – we’re in a pandemic, violence is erupting in cities, government officials and citizens are squabbling, and even friends and neighbors are feeling tensions about what’s going on in the world.
The Buddha called this ocean of worldly suffering “samsara,” and said the key to emotional and spiritual survival is learning how to calm and work with our minds.
In a special Sunday Dharma Talk, Lama Karma will offer us techniques for working with the mind in the midst of difficulty, and show us how to stay encouraged during these difficult times.
With our usual schedule of Lama visits interrupted due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Columbus KTC is delighted that Lama Karma could take time out of his busy schedule to give us a Dharma Talk on how to work with our current situation and challenges.
On this special Sunday, Lama Karma’s talk will replace three of our usual Sunday morning KTC events: 10 a.m. Group Meditation; 10 a.m. Medicine Buddha Practice; and 10 a.m. Introduction to Meditation Class.
We appreciate everyone’s patience with this change in our regular schedule; our usual Sunday morning schedule will resume on June 21.

ABOUT LAMA KARMA: Lama Karma Drodhul is the President of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery. Born in Tibet, Lama Karma came to the United States in the 2000s to assist his uncle, the Ven. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, abbot of KTD monastery. Lama Karma has completed two 3-Year Retreats and teaches meditation and dharma at KTD and other dharma centers. He teaches in English with an open and accessible style.
