The Four Dharmas of Gampopa: A Special Teaching Event with Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal

September 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

PROGRAM AVAILABLE IN-PERSON AND ON ZOOM

May my mind follow the dharma

May the dharma become a path

May the path be cleared of confusion

May confusion dawn as wisdom

The Four Dharmas of Gampopa summarize the entire Buddhist path. From the first glimmering of interest in enlightenment to final Buddhahood itself, these four teachings have guided countless beings to spiritual goodness and awakening.

Written in the 12th Century by the dharma master Gampopa, they are a road map to removing obstacles from our path and coming to know the nature of our own minds.

Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal, a master meditator and scholar from Nepal, will share these four dharmas and show us how to confidently practice meditation and insight to liberate ourselves from the deadening effects of ego-fixation and its habits.

Karma Thegsum Chöling Columbus is honored to offer these rare teachings that can be understood by every level of dharma practitioner.

Evening sessions on Tuesday Sept. 1 and Wednesday Sept. 2 will be available in person and on Zoom. Please join us for the blessing of receiving these teachings from a lineage master in the tradition of Gampopa himself.

ABOUT DRUPON KHENPO LODRO NAMGYAL:

Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal completed the rigorous nine-year Acharya program at Nalanda Institute, Rumtek Monastery, studying under the guidance of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche.

After graduation, he was appointed one of the Khenpos of Nalanda Institute, where he taught for two years, before entering a three-year retreat at Pullahari Monastery in Nepal.

Upon completing that retreat, he was appointed Drupon — or retreat master — of Pullahari Monastery. This combination of immense learning and intensive meditation is clearly evident in his teachings.

Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal has since served as personal tutor of philosophy to His Eminence the Fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and is currently the principal of the Rigpe Dorje Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies, the seat of His Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche in Kathmandu, Nepal, and has taught Buddhist philosophy and meditation to students across North America and Europe.
