(Please note that this event posting shows only July 22nd, but this is only the first Wednesday.)
This summer, we’re going to have a book club that we hope will be inspiring for everyone. Centuries ago, the Tibetan Buddhist master Geshe Chekawa Yeshe Dorje wrote a group of 59 mind-training slogans that taught a complete system of meditation for transforming mental afflictions and seeing through our illusions to know the common goodness and wisdom of all beings.
Starting July 22nd, the six Wednesday night sessions will cover the entire Seven-Point Mind Training slogan set written by Geshe Chewaka. We will learn the four styles of meditation taught in this system, including the renowned method of “Tong-len” or “Sending or Receiving.”
We will work from the book “The Great Path of Awakening” written by Jamgon Kongtrul. Students can purchase the book at any bookseller, but buying from Namse Bangdzo Bookstore will benefit our home Monastery, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra. Please find it here.
You can attend all of the sessions, or just a few; we will try to record all the sessions for later watching on YouTube.
Donations would be appreciated, and will help the Columbus KTC Rebuilding Fund. We hope to rebuild our center (destroyed by arson fire in 2016) this summer, and all proceeds over cost will be put toward rebuilding our temple. You can give $1 per session, $5, $10 – or any amount you choose.
ABOUT TICKETS: We would appreciate a donation to benefit Columbus KTC’s Rebuilding Fund. You can donate any amount – it is all appreciated!
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE financial means, or have difficulty registering online, please write lamakathy@columbusktc.org and she will register you at no cost. Students must have an internet connection, email capability, and download the Zoom application in order to attend. Zoom software is available here.
