Jewel Ornament of Liberation

This week’s Dharma Talk is entitled Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Lama Tom Broadwater.

Lama Tom will begin our study of The Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Gampopa. This text belongs to a group of texts called “Stages of the Path or Lamrim.” Gampopa takes us from the most basic and profound of Buddhist tenets to the realization of Buddhahood. Ornament in its title refers to those  texts that cover the most important subjects in Buddhism in a concise, polished manner. Gampopa taught extensively, and attracted many students. He is the source of the major surviving Kagyu schools, all known as the Dagpo Kagyu . Lama Tom will introduce the text and it’s author in what will be an ambitious series of talks and discussions by Lamas and qualified senior students at Columbus KTC.
