The Gentle Power of Love: Part 1
This week Lama Kathy Wesley gives a talk entitled, “The Gentle Power of Love: Part 1.” For many of us, the practice of Mindfulness is the introduction to our path of personal growth and change. But what do we do after we have established a daily meditation practice? How do we take the practice of mindfulness into our relationships and world? According to the 8th Century Buddhist sage Shantideva, we do it by training in the gentle power of love. This set of talks is based on Khenpo Karthar Rinpoché’s 2019 teaching on the Dedication and Aspiration Chapter of Shantideva’s “The Way of the Bodhisattva.” It discusses what love is and what it isn’t, and how we can gradually feel love and practice compassion for ourselves and others.
